The Kryp’jakevych Institute of Ukrainian Studies (Інститут українознавства ім. І. Крип’якеви) has become the 25th member of the NISE Network of Institutes, Projects and Networks.
This research institute in L’viv (Ukraine), established in 1951, forms part of the Ukrainian Academy of Science. It focuses on the interdisciplinary study of western Ukraine (Galicia, Carpathians, relations with Poland), with emphasis on lexicography (regiolects), archeology and history (esp. WWII). It also carries out research regarding national identity and national/regional movements. The institute moreover holds archives and has a library.
