On 26 September 2013 John Breuilly opens the new NISELectures series. His subject is the search for a global history of nationalism.
The series will present succinctly the developments in research on nationalism and national movements.
Historian John Breuilly is professor of Nationalism and Ethnicity at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with many important publications to his name; he recently edited the Oxford Handbook of the History of Nationalism.
The title for his lecture is: How does nationalism ‘travel’? Ideas for a global history of nationalism.
At the same occasion, the promotion campaign for the new NISE electronical journal Studies on National Movements (SNM) will be launched.
The event takes place on Thursday 26 September in the historical Nottebohm Room of the Flemish Heritage Library Hendrik Conscience in Antwerp, Belgium. The lecture starts at 18h00.
